Sustainability
The term being "sustainable" is loosely thrown around frequently nowadays, so we wanted to educate you about what we believe being sustainable actually means.
Sustainability:

Using resources wisely now, so that we do not prevent the future generations from also using these resources. There are 3 main elements of sustainability which we feel support our companies ethos.

Economic development:
It is about big businesses doing the right thing and making sustainable choices - this does not necessarily mean that they have to stop making a profit. Small changes such as sourcing local materials and using less packaging can make a massive difference to the eco-footprint of a company. The company doesn't have to sacrifice the customers needs or wants, they may actually enhance them by providing a greener service. We need to fill our world with sustainable companies and brands who are conscious about their impact on the environment and are passionate about making a difference.
The world is a beautiful place and we need to keep it this way so that future generations can have similar opportunities and enjoy life too.
Social development:
This is our main focus as a social young enterprise where we aim to educate you about sustainability and we also want to encourage you to make better choices in the way you live so that the environment benefits as well as your happiness! Social development in larger companies can mean creating sustainable housing and infrastructure; clever people are finding new ways to build environmentally efficient homes where people can live their lives with little impact on the environment.
Environmental protection:
Protecting the environment is vital to create a sustainable world. We can reuse, reduce, recycle and make changes to the way we live to shrink our own eco-footprints. We need to preserve the environment so that people can enjoy the beauty it has to offer! This element of sustainability is also key in the animal kingdom as they rely on the environment for their survival. Because of demand for natural resources such as wood and metal ores, animals' habitats are completely destroyed and this has led to the extinction of many species, and made thousands endangered.

Harnessing power from the wind is one of the cleanest and most sustainable ways to generate electricity, as they are renewable.

Trees are so important; their roots stabilise the soil, and they provide a habitat for wildlife! Amazing!

Due to the rapid rate of deforestation, it is estimated that 10% of the Rainforest species will become extinct within 10 years.

If the current rate of deforestation continues, it will take less than 100 years to destroy all the rainforests on the earth.

There were approximately 6 million square miles of Rainforest on Earth, but due to deforestation, this figure has at least halved.

Fill your home with plants, as they release Oxygen!

Forests can help mitigate climate change by reducing the amount of greenhouse gases, such as Carbon Dioxide.

It is estimated that 55,600 trees are cut down every single minute; this number is just rising, as the demand for wood increases.

Gardening can be great fun, and it can also be fantastic for the environment.

Up to 28,000 species are to be expected to be extinct within the next 25 years alone.

This demonstrates the links which must be shared to reach a sustainable future. It is a challenge, but it is possible.

The rainforest holds wonders for medical development, and it is known for cancer curing plants to be found in the rainforest.

Wave energy is another sustainable method to generate energy. It is a renewable energy source.

Some species, such as the Toucan are able to adapt much quicker to the habitat destruction, so have a better chance.

The production of oil has increased by 225% in the last decade; oil reserves such as Tar Sands, destroy the environment.

Rainforests provide us with approximately 40% of our oxygen supply!

Sustainable agriculture is quite possible; it ensures that what we have today is not lost for future generations.

Nature is so beautiful, it needs protecting so that the beauty is not taken from us.

What looks rather beautiful and ornate at first glance is actually a terrible reality; try not to buy products which contain palm oil in them.

Shop wisely; you can massively help the environment by choosing sustainable brands.

Rainforests cover approximately 2% of the Earth's surface area, yet are home to over 50% of the world's plant and animal species!
How can you be sustainable?
Remember to Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle. There is a reason we say these in this order. We always want to reuse things first. If we can’t, then we try to reduce what we use. Recycling is the final step where we give out old things to someone else to make new things. We have structured our pages on the website to complement this format; please take some time to have a peak at each one to learn what you could be doing to make a difference!

A sustainable future:
Think positively!
We are making a change because individuals are getting involved and promoting the idea of a sustainable future which we must all aspire to.
There are incredible people everywhere we go who invest their talents and passion into creating new technologies and new solutions to improve the way we live and therefore the damage caused to the world.
It's never to late to start making a difference - if we all do something now the sustainable future we are aiming for will come around sooner than you think!

Many people have the perception that they cannot make a difference by simply changing their own lifestyle, but if we all live life thinking this, then no changes will ever be made. The truth is simple; small changes make a BIG difference!

People want bigger and better belongings, which has led to the increase in the amount of land which has been destroyed in order to collect resources. As consumers, we can stop this process by changing which companies we choose to buy from, and also by restricting our purchases to items we need as opposed to the ones that we "simply must have" .

One brilliant way to be more sustainable, and also happier and healthier is to stop buying ready meals, as these products, along with thousands more, use too much packaging which is simply thrown away after purchase. The packaging for our products alone causes shocking damage to the environment.

Our impact on the environment is HUGE, and we are responsible for what happens next!
